Galbraith staff raise bullish total for RSABI

Galbraith staff raise bullish total for RSABI

07 March 2022

A Simmental bull from Corskie Farm, near Fochabers, joined the Galbraith team to present a cheque for £5,470 to RSABI, during the recent Stirling Bull Sales.

Carol McLaren, Chief Executive of RSABI, extended heartfelt thanks to staff at property consultancy Galbraith, who are also sponsors of the Stirling Bull Sales.

The initiative saw around 80 staff from Galbraith, also a member of RSABI’s Supporter Scheme, take part in a fundraising cycle at the end of last year in aid of RSABI and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

The aim was to cycle the distance between John O’ Groats to Land’s End, a target that was exceeded, with over 1,995 miles clocked up thanks to staff going out on their bikes and pedalling on static bikes in offices across the country.

The cyclists’ fundraising total of £5,470 was generously matched by Galbraith with the funds then split between the two charities.

Alice Wilson, Associate Rural Surveyor at Galbraith, and Alexander Cuthbert, Graduate Surveyor, presented a cheque to Ms McLaren and RSABI’s Finance and Digital Manager, Harry Seran. The presentation was witnessed by Corskie Leopard a 20-month old bull led by Laura Green of Corksie Farm, who have recently signed up as Business Supporters of RSABI.

Ms Wilson said: “Galbraith were delighted to catch up with the RSABI Team to present a cheque for the funds raised during our charity cycle. RSABI is a unique Scottish charity dedicated to providing emotional, practical and financial support to people in Scottish agriculture. We could not think of a better charity to raise funds for, and we look forward to continuing to support RSABI and the great work they do.”

Ms McLaren said: “We’re very grateful to all at Galbraith who got on their bikes in November to raise such a fantastic sum for RSABI and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, as well as those who supported and sponsored the cyclists. Many thanks also go to Galbraith for generously matching the fundraising total which will support RSABI’s work to provide financial, emotional and practical support to people in the Scottish agricultural industry.

“It was great to meet Laura Green and Simmental bull Corskie Leopard at the Sales, and we’re just delighted that the family have chosen to sign up to our Business Supporter Scheme.

“With the industry currently facing a range of challenges and times of change ahead, it’s more important than ever that people know that RSABI is here to provide friendly and confidential support. If you’re struggling, please do not hesitate to contact us.”
