As a member of the Watson family from Ayr that has served the farming community as seed merchants for three generations, Johnny Watson's work has provided him with the opportunity to visit thousands of farmers across the UK. He started his career with Sinclair McGill, continuing with ICI, before starting his own business, John Watson Seeds Ltd, in 1990.
He has been a patron of the arts through his support of the Demarco European Art Foundation, for five years housed the Demarco archive at Skateraw in East Lothian, held a number of critically acclaimed art exhibitions and hosted a Scottish opera performance to the benefit of 500 local school children. Johnny's hobbies include shooting, playing very bad golf and being a member of the Votadini band.
