RSABI Bike Challenge at the Royal Highland Show 2018

21st - 24th June 2018

Venue: The Royal Highland Showgrounds

 

As part of the RSABI Summer of Challenges a cycle challenge took place at the Royal Highland Show.

35 Participants from 8years up to 75 years, from all corners of the country from Stranraer to Orkney did their best to cycle the 1.03 mile Ingleston Race track in the quickest time. 

Our demographic spread of the participants relates to our support of people in Scottish Agriculture.  Our emotional, practical and financial support is available to all who are in need across the country. 

 

 

Well done to the category winners:

Professionals – Tie - Cameron Fenton & Jason Baggot (Both Edinburgh Rugby) 1min 42sec

Over 75 – Hugh Chalmers 2min 41sec (Raced a Sunbeam Lotus round the track in 1964 overtaking Jim McRae in a Chevette HSR in front of the Ingleston Grandstand)

Men – Magnus Johnston (Orkney) 1min 51sec

Women – Rita Jakisko 2min 12sec

U16’s Jack Ivory 1min 19sec (half lap)
